Our fully qualified technicians have a wealth of experience conducting portable appliance testing and inspection of daily living aids within client’s homes, to include bath lifts, sensory impairment equipment and a variety of other items supplied within the local authority profile. We currently undertake works for Equipu,( Glasgow City Council ) and have provided this service for over 14 years.

During our time working in partnership with Equipu we have developed many innovative methods of delivering and improving services. We have pioneered, as part of our testing and inspection programme, a first-time quick fix, whereby we provide a minimal repairs service which allows us to repair items while undertaking the testing programme at no extra cost.

This innovation has been achieved by working closely with the technical team at Equipu where they provide spare parts, which we store within all technicians vans, which are then used to remove the requirement for a separate visit from the Equipu repairs contractor team, saving the service money, and also ensuring minimal inconvenience to the client who do not
then require a second visit to undertake a repair. Major repairs outwith the technician’s remit are passed to our Equipu partners to quickly action.

We have also worked closely in the past to develop paperless technology which would greatly assist the administration process of the contract and have highlighted how this could potentially have a major impact on the cost per test, as admin on both sides would be greatly reduced.

Over the last 14 years we have developed our customer care programme to ensure that we not only deliver high levels of service to our primary clients the Equipu partnership, but have also through time came to understand the needs of our end users who we actively work with to build trust, as we have an appreciation that this group of clients are often vulnerable service users, hence we ensure our technicians take the utmost care and consideration when dealing with the customer.

This is an aspect as a company we are very proud of, having undertaken approx. 20,000 test per annum, we are now in a position whereby we have undertaken hundreds of thousands of tests with exemplary high levels of customer satisfaction, an aspect of our service delivery which we feel is not by chance but by design, working hard throughout the years to gain the trust and respect of the end user, ensuring that the highest levels of service are delivered at all times. As a supplier of services to the councils for over 14 years, we have worked tirelessly to improve our operations with further innovations such as work activity smoothing, this in essence was done by looking at monthly workloads and identifying for example there is 1000 tests to be done in April but we have 3000 in May, hence over many years we have worked in partnership with Equipu to provide a more controlled and even monthly work activity that provides a more stable platform to provide high levels of service to our customers at all times, when they need it.
